Bread Poha

A very easy and tasty snack. Good option for breakfast as well as for evening tea. My husband loves bread poha a lot. You can prepare it with brown or white bread as you like.

Ingredients:

Refined Oil --------------------------- 1 1/2 tbsp
Mustard seeds(Rai) ------------------ 1tsp
Curry leaves -------------------------- 7-8
Onion----------------------------------- 1 chopped
Tomato --------------------------------- 2 chopped
Green chillies-------------------------- 2 chopped

Coriander powder ---------------------- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves ---------------------- 1tbsp chopped
Turmeric powder(Haldi) ------------ 1tsp
Bread slice ----------------------------- 6 cut in to 1/2" square pieces
Salt -------------------------------------- to taste

First of all cut all the veggies.

As I have brown and white bread both so I took both.

Heat oil in a khadai. Add Rai, curry leaves. Than add onion and green chillies and fry them.

When onion turns light brown add tomato, haldi, salt and corinader powder. If you like red chillies add now according to your tatse.

Mix well and cook for 2-3 mintues on medium/low flame till tomato turns pulpy.

Add bread and mix well on medium flame for 2 minutes.

Finally add coriander leaves, mix and serve hot, as it is or with ketchup.

Method:

1. Heat the oil in a khadai, add the rai, when they cracles add the curry leaves and saute for a second.
2. Add the onion and green chillies and fry till light brown.
3. Add Tomato, turmeric powder and saute till tomatoes turn soft and pulpy on low flame.

4. Add the remaining spices and mix well.
4. Add the bread pieces and mix well, saute for 2 minutes on medium/ low flame.
5. Add coriander and mix. Serve hot.

Some ideas:

If bread is hard sprinkle with little water, as to make the bread soft enough to be made pieces.
